Freedom Fest (Giddings)

The fiery sparkles of music fill the air, beginning the Fourth of July festival in the small town of Giddings. Freedom Fest, focuses on this favorite seasonal celebration in the form of an old-fashioned neighborly gathering in the local Veterans Park. Many groups work together to provide a spectacular two-day experience for the fourth of July holiday, starting with the music of Freedom Fest. Local bands gather at the Veterans Honor Park pavilion, while families bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnics, spreading out under the cool shade of the trees to enjoy an evening of great tunes and fellowship. As the sun sets, the crowd is treated to a variety of styles including country, rap, pop, rock & roll, classic and even some big band! There’s something for everyone. The community as well as visitors alike enjoy the friendly, relaxed atmosphere and dancing under the stars to a favorite song. There’s no need to hold back at this come-as-you-are party as children dance barefoot in the grass and couples sway to a romantic tune.
The Veterans are proud to discuss and show off their Honor Memorial, which lists all the veterans of Lee County, as well as their nearby display of three military vehicles and tanks. The City of Giddings delights in improving the Park every year with new features like a Splash Pad and Cornhole equipment to be enjoyed by attendees of the Freedom Fest music festival. Sponsors and Partners provide for the music so that everyone may attend and simply enjoy the night with family and friends, new and old.
