Boerne’s Art al Fresco
Art al Fresco is the city of Boerne’s walkable outdoor art adventure, where guests can get up close and personal with largescale sculptures placed throughout the historic Hill Country Mile, the library grounds, and along Boerne’s trail systems.
Unlike a traditional gallery, we encourage guests to touch and take photos with the sculptures, which lends to our motto: “Be a part of the art!” Currently, Boerne is home to 15 beautiful sculptures crafted from a variety of mediums, and nearly all were created by Texas artists. Several sculptures in the collection were acquired though the city’s five-year program to grow public art, the Art al Fresco Public Art Competition, which selected eight to 10 sculptures each year to be temporarily displayed, with the option to purchase at the show’s end. Eight pieces were acquired through the program and are now proudly part of the Art al Fresco permanent public art collection.
