Visit Granbury Winter Guest – Goosebump Jump 2022
The Lake Granbury Goosebump Jump is the kickoff event for the Winter Guest Tourism Season in Granbury. Brave individuals accept the Goosebump Jump Challenge to the community, civic organizations, charitable organizations, and visitors by jumping into the frigid waters of Lake Granbury at City Beach Park. 2022 was the second annual event. Sponsored by Visit Granbury and the Granbury Area Lodging Association (plus numerous communities sponsors) it is a friendly competition with funds awarded to the 501C3 organization that signs up the largest number of participants. It is a great way to kick-off any nonprofit organization’s budget for their upcoming year.
The winning charitable organization is determined by how many jumpers register, naming their favorite charity to win the funds and check in at the event. This year, the event raised $3,171 for the winning charitable organization: Mission Granbury. Over 200 jumpers braved the frigid waters for charity and the event was covered on numerous media platforms.
The temperature during the event was 37 degrees with a northwest wind at 21 mph. And snow it did.
The event creates a fun and creative tourism-related community philanthropic event. It brings together community, charitable organizations, tourism stakeholders, and visitors all while generating excitement for the winter tourism season in Granbury.
