The Texas Travel Awards recognizes and celebrates top travel destinations and attractions across the Lone Star State. The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted the travel industry in Texas, and this program was created with the intent to support and promote the state’s tourism industry to an audience that loves to travel. The inaugural winners lived up to that goal, representing some of the outstanding places to go and things to do across the great state of Texas.
San Angelo took home the top Destination of the Year award. Judges noted the city is a hidden gem, great for travelers interested in arts and culture and the American West. San Angelo not only survived the pandemic, they wrote, it thrived!
Read on to see all the winners in two groups of categories: statewide and by four population groups. Click to learn more, or see the 2021 Texas Travel Awards magazine here.
