Place to Dance

Luckenbach

Long before Waylon and Willie sang this Hill Country hamlet to fame, Luckenbach was a mid-19th-century trading post and saloon. After it was purchased by self-proclaimed mayor “Hondo” Crouch in 1971, the little community (population: 3) became one of the world’s great dance halls. The saloon still stands, but there’s also a general store, post office, outdoor stage, and food stand, so “get back to the basics” and stay awhile. Psst, RVs can park overnight for a fee.
