Visit Austin’s Best Seat in the House – Live Music Edition
The pandemic had a ripple effect on the Live Music Capital of the World, shuttering iconic venues and leaving performers and industry workers without employment. To support the ailing music scene, Visit Austin created this livestream concert series and benefit. Its three hourlong episodes—filmed at artists’ homes and the Long Center of the Performing Arts—features more than 24 Austin musicians paying tribute to prominent icons and music movements in Austin, including Willie Nelson, Daniel Johnston, and the city’s Black music legacy. Beneficiaries include the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians; Hi, How Are You Project; and Six Square Austin’s Black Cultural District.
