Dubbed “the biggest small music festival,” Viva was founded to build community and boost the region’s music industry by sup- porting local venues and performers (who share the stage with bigger statewide acts). It’s a five-day traveling road show of sorts: Rather than drawing audiences to a central location, nearly every stage in Alpine, Marfa, Terlingua, Fort Davis, and Marathon play host to more than 60 live performances spanning multiple genres. Fill ’er up and hit the road to iconic venues like the Gage Hotel, Lost Horse Saloon, and Starlight Theaters.
