Enchanted Rock
Fredericksburg
Known as a batholith, this 425-foot pink granite dome has been the subject of myth and intrigue for centuries. Today, it’s a Texas landmark and designated State Natural Area, located 18 miles north of Fredericksburg. The area has nearly 11 miles of hiking trails, a nature trail, camping, interpretive exhibits, climbing, geocaching, stargazing, and birding. Sunset is prime time for photo opps and picnics.
