Texas Hill Country Wineries
Fredericksburg’s wine production originated with 19th century German settlers, who used native mustang grapes for their first vintages. Today, some Hill Country wineries have established their own rootstock to produce 100% Texas-grown and -made wines with distinctive terroir.
From multigenerational vineyards and low intervention backdoor cellars to commercial estates with organized tours, the 50-and-counting Hill Country wineries offer visitors an array of winemaking styles and varietals in one of the most geographically and climatically blessed parts of Texas.
